 PLAYLISTS
HAPPYYYYYYYY SPING EVERYONE!
i'm delighted to announce it is once again time for the much loved annual
SPRING MIXCHANGE wait, what is a mixchange?our mixchanges are a secret gift exchange event for making playlists, which we host twice a year (in fall and spring!). each participant gets matched up to another person and creates a secret playlist for them, based on their wishlist. the spring mixchange specifically is focused on character playlists! are you excited? rearing and ready to go? great! me too! but please, take the time to carefully read through this post before signing up  schedulesign-ups: apr 17 - apr 26 matches sent out: apr 27 working period: apr 27 - may 18 posting period: may 19 - may 26 how does all this work?- after carefully reading all rules and guidelines, you will be able to sign up for the event through a google form at the bottom of this post
- to sign up, pick 2 to 4 characters (original or not) and share some basic information on them (ex.: basic backstory, associated themes). you can also share some of your favourite artists/genres to give your match some ideas!
- after the sign up period, the mod team will go through all submissions and match up the participants. we will send you your match through forum DMs, so make sure to keep an eye out! to get pinged for updates on the event status, you can also join our [ discord server ].
- once you have received your match's information, choose one of their characters to make a playlist for! you can use suggested themes and artists as inspiration and guidelines, but you don't have to include them. remember to keep your identity and playlist a secret until the event is finished!
- everyone has until the end of the working period to work on their gift. then, on may 19th, everyone shares their finished playlists through a new post on this thread and reveals their identity!
rules and guidelines- your playlist should be between 8 and 40 tracks long
- your mix has to be based on one of your match's characters! you may focus on suggested themes or music, but this is not a requirement. absolutely do NOT include any themes or songs that are against forum rules, or that your match specifically asked not to be included
- if your playlist includes potentially upsetting themes or content (in accordance with the previous rule), state relevant warnings in your post
- every playlist must be hosted on youtube. make sure to set it to public or hidden, but not private. you may include a copy of the playlist on other platforms (soundcloud, spotify,...) as long as there is a youtube version available
- once the posting period starts, you may share your gift in this thread. your post should contain both a link to the playlist and a typed out tracklist. make sure to give CWs where necessary, and tag your match to let them see their gift!
- you are welcome to include a cover image in your gift as well, such as a drawing you made or image you edited. make sure to properly credit all elements you did not make yourself (ex.: free stock photos, fonts), and do not use any element you don't have permission to use (ex.: random images found on google, other people's art).
additional info- any character you submit should include a short description and clear reference image. these must be appropriate for all ages and do not include nudity, gore, or otherwise upsetting content!
- remember: images hosted on discord will no longer show up on the forum. (if you don't know what i mean, read [ this thread ] for more information.) similarly, images hosted on artfight are not visible to people without an account. when linking reference or cover images, make sure to use another hosting service, such as filegarden
- the focus of spring mixchange is original characters, but if you do not have any, you may submit characters from pre-existing media as well
- if you run into any trouble while making your playlist, please notify the moderator who sent you your match immediately! extra help, extensions, or even replacement gifters in case you have to drop out can all be arranged, but the sooner we know the better!
- some songs are unavailable in different regions. to avoid unplayable videos in your playlist, it is a good to ask someone unrelated to the event (or a moderator) to check your mix before posting it
- check out our previous [ spring mixchange ] or [ fall mixchange ] for examples of finished playlists and gifts! (and also because they're all really great!)

Aaaand... the posting period has officially begun!You may now reveal your playlists and start posting them in this thread!
Please take a quick look over the rules and guidelines section again to make sure everything's included and all good, and don't forget to tag your match in your post (and optionally on Discord, too), so they see!
The posting period runs from now, until May 26! This means you have until and including the 26th to post your gift.
If for some reason, you won't be able to post your gift within the posting week, please shoot me a message! It's generally not a problem, but the sooner we know, the sooner we can make arrangements and inform your match if we have to.
