Hello everyone! I'm Striehart and I've been a hobby artist for about twenty years!

I have art accounts on tumblr and twitter, but I'd like to engage with the community here and so am makin' an art thread so it can easily be followed. More art can be found on those accounts, however, I occasionally draw mild nudity and blood, which I will not put here, as well as sketches that I feel are not up to my expected level of quality.

While I love to draw, my own motivation is tenuous enough that I have to be highly engaged and interested in what I'm making. As a result, I don't typically commit to making art for others, because I can struggle to deliver something in a timely manner or something that I am satisfied with.

My interests include marine life, fantasy, dragons, and merfolk! I enjoy designing creatures and beasts.

I have a variety of original characters that I will post in excess in this thread.

Note: A fair amount of my older art will show my old signature, which is helioboros. I switched to Striehart in 2022, and do not have backups of art older than from the end of 2019 due to hard drive failure.

{Aster}Aster is a sea elf, a former oracle of the god Gethra, who has long-ago been cursed and imprisoned within the earth. Free of Gethra's thrall now, and mutated by his influence, Aster is trying to figure out what's right - freedom or security - and how he can best save the world from its slow decay. He underwent a redesign in 2019, and so older art of him will look different.

{Trinity}Trinity is a Mirror, an interdimensional refugee from a dead plane, that shifts and mutates to conform and adapt to the world around them. They hide their true 'self' less over time and allow themselves to grow. Their ultimate goal - which they do meet - is to create a sanctuary city for persecuted and lesser-understood peoples.

So here's old-style Aster! In chronological order!

Nir first ever art and it was a whole reference sheet. Ne deviates pretty hard from this now.

A fair amount of this particular ref has been retconned. Aster is no longer blind because it was only a brief curse that I expected to last longer at the time, and I don't feel a particular attachment to making nir webbing leathery - that and the black hair are links to Desdemona, the reaper who lives inside nir brain.

An old icon, and the edited version, as elf hair grows out much faster than human hair.

Aster 2.0 is the same in build - the main difference is that I changed nir skin to be more like that of bobtail squids. In addition, instead of leathery fins, a trait that ne takes from Desdemona is transparent extremities that show off blackened bones.

The last three images are a set done within the last month, but for the sake of not stretching the post out horrendously I'm sharing them all in a funny little box here.
