ok nice formatting be damned ill make this look pretty eventually BUT anyway. ive been hammering away at creating my Own kind of realistic dragon worldbuilding for a couple years now and the project's been a bit dormant for some time bc i just did Not have enough time to dedicate to it, but yknow what!! i wanna work on it again!! starting with overhauling some designs completely!!
this whole thread is still HEAVILY under construction but ill add a table of contents and species directory at some point, bear with me, theres a lotta stuff i still need to check and refine
BUT FOR NOW, A PRIMER: in this setting, dragons are a surviving cladistic family of pterosaurs originally thought to have died during the K-Pg extinction event that wiped out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. nowadays there's many different kinds of dragons, some even domesticated as pets or used as mounts, and even colossal underwater leviathans reminiscent of mythical sea serpents!!
and my job is to catalogue them all like a very thorough fantasy field researcher!!! wahoo!!!!
