Hello everyone and a happy new year! I hope you've all had a great start into the year with lots of fun things coming up! Of course, for our beautiful NIGHTCORNER, a new year also means:
~NEW EVENTS!!~ ~WOO!!!~ We'll be hosting our Spring and Fall Mixchanges as always (check out [ here] and [ here] for previous run-throughs!), but there will be other events as well, and this is where you come in! What kind of events would you like to see? Something you've always wanted to do? New ideas you have?
Or what about any old favourites you'd like to come back? The most fun event we've run before?
I want to hear all about it! Lemme know in this thread! Let's talk about it! Happy new year!!
P.S. Thank you so much to everyone who's participated in our events so far! They would not nearly be as fun as they are without every single one of you <3

I'd like to do a little something for Valentines again! I'm not sure what per se - but we always end up doing something super last-minute for that, so maybe it'd be nice to turn it into something slightly more coordinated this year, while we still can? Since we'll be fresh out of the Winter Gift Exchange, maybe not another gift exchange, though... or if we do one, not one that asks for drawn art, at the very least.
Instead, it might be fun to do something with a different medium for once? We could write each other little poems, or compose Valentines cards for each other using (our own) photography... And if we do something like that, we could make it a double-blind kind of gift exchange, where no one knows who their gift will actually end up with, and who made theirs. People could reveal their identities at the end if they see their gifts being sent out (something which would have to go through mods if we do it this way), but it would be optional. I imagine especially something like writing poetry for another person can be a little embarassing, but it'd be fine if people can choose in the end if they'd like their names attached to that or not. And if the game is anonymous both ways this time, we can do one that isn't OC-centric - the reason we normally make Valentines about OCs is that someone could potentially be weird to another person if they made a more personal Valentines gift, even if they're meant to be platonic, but that shouldn't be a concern if the gifts can't be personally targeted like that.
Those are all just ideas, and definitely still needs some time simmering but, I think it could be really fun! And if not that, I'd like to at some point this year do a non-drawing event either way. There haven't been a lot of games for people who aren't visual artists besides the Mixchange.

art swap!! the kind where one person starts a sketch, another does the lineart, and one last person does colours. i think it would be fun if it isn’t too much to organize, and multiple people could end up collaborating in multiple pieces!

Agree that some kinda writing event or art swap/collab thing would be super fun! I rly liked the angel oc collab, it'd be cool to do something like that again with a different or no theme. Art telephone is always fun. I helped run an event in another server that was like, redesigning each others ocs with a gift exchange kinda setup, it was rly neat but it was kinda a lot to administer so understandable if not. I do rly agree with robbie that doing something besides drawing would be fun, like writing or photography or making music or cooking idk (i am a drawer im not good at anything else but i still think itd be fun).

THAT SOUNDS REALLY FUN... Character design events tend to always be really fun either way, so I would love to do something in that vein. I think there should be enough interest too, since most people in the server love making OCs, so, we'll definitely keep that one in mind. And no need to worry too much about whether things might be difficult to host! We've done a bunch of different types of games for this server, so I feel like we're getting a good feel for the moderative side of things at this point - at least in sense that if something is a little complicated to set up, we'll probably be able to find a workaround to make it a bit easier to manage, like what we did with telephone last time.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far! :D I'll reply more in depth at a later date, but I love all the things mentioned :3 Writing them all down on my little list.

I agree, a chara design event would be really fun!!! I remember a challenge I saw a while ago where you made an OC based on a moodboard. Maybe this could be adapted like, one participant make a moodboard, they all get mixed around and then you have to make an OC based on the moodboard of someone else? Might be a little bit difficult to pull off though, so maybe just saying general themes/aesthetics you like could work too. Sort of like a big adoptable event where everyone ends up with a new OC designed by someone else.

I also think it would be cool to have some more things that aren't drawing-based for people who don't draw/aren't as confident to get involved with - maybeeee like a baking challenge with a prompt, colouring sheets, moodboards, try something new and share the results ?? LOVE the idea of a character design event too
