Hello everyone, and welcome to this year's spring mixchange! The 6th run of this event!  The mixchange is a secret santa- everyone will get matched up with another participant and make them a secret playlist based on their wishlist. As always, the spring event is themed around original characters!
Schedule:Signups: April 1st to April 8th Working Period: April 9th to April 30th Posting Period: May 1st to May 8th
How it works:
- Unlike in previous years, this event will be fully run through the forum! All information will be shared here, and submissions will be posted and preserved on this thread. If you'd like to get pinged for reminders or announcements, join the Nightcorner Discord!
- At the end of this post you will find a sign-up form where you can submit your wishlist- once the sign-up period ends, the mods will randomly assign everyone a match to make a playlist for. It's important to keep both your identity and gift a secret until posting!
- You'll receive your giftee's wishlist through forum DMs, so make sure to check them! (We'll ping the Mixchangers role on Discord as well to help you remember!)
- You'll have to choose one of your giftee's characters to make a playlist for, but you don't need to include the themes given in the wishlist- they're just guidelines! You'll also have to make a cover image for your playlist.
- You have until the end of the working period to finish your mix. Then, on May 1st, you can post your gift in this thread and reveal your identity! Don't forget to tag your match so they can see!
Rules & Requirements:- Your mix should have a minimum of 8 tracks and a maximum of 40.
- Your gift has to include a cover image- this could be a drawing you made, or a picture you edited, with for example the playlist's title on it. Don't use any elements you don't have permission to use (ex. random pics from google images, art you didn't make), and make sure to credit elements you do use with permission (ex. free stock photos, free fonts, etc.)!
- All gifts should be posted in this thread once the posting period begins! Don't forget to include both the cover image and playlist link, tag your match, and give CWs where necessary. Your post also must include a typed up tracklist.
- Your mix has to be based on one of the recipient's characters, but you don't have to include all themes/suggestions from the wishlist- these are just there to give you ideas! It cannot contain anything your match has asked you not to include, 18+ content, or content that's against the rules and blacklist of the server & forum.
- You have to make your playlist in YouTube; it can be public or hidden, but not set to private. If you make a version on another platform, you must also include a YouTube playlist alongside it.
- Pick 1-3 characters to sign up with. Include a clear reference and short descriptions for each character. Make sure these are appropriate for all ages, do not include nudity, gore, or otherwise potentially upsetting content.
- These characters must be yours. Fan-characters are fine, but don't sign up with characters from existing media that you did not create.
- If you find you can't finish your gift before the end of the posting period, please contact the mod who sent you your wishlist. They can arrange for an extension, or find a replacement gifter; it's no problem if you must drop out, but please let us know as soon as possible!
- It's a good idea to get someone unrelated to the exchange to check your playlist for any non-working videos- some may be region-restricted or otherwise unavailable!
- For examples of finished playlists, you can take a look at the #2021-spring-mixchange and the #2021-fall-mixchange channels on the Nightcorner Discord!
