WELCOME TO ~~ THE ANNUAL NIGHTCORNER SPRING MIXCHANGE ~~ that's right! hello everyone! it's time once again  what is a mixchange? the mixchange is a secret gift exchange event specifically for creating playlists, which we host twice a year. every participant will be matched up to another person, who they'll make a secret playlist for based on their wishlist.
the spring mixchange, as always, will be themed around character playlists!
schedule sign-ups: apr 21 - apr 28
matches sent out: apr 29
working period: apr 29 - may 26
posting period: may 27 - jun 4
how does this work? - after carefully reading through the rules and guidelines, you can sign up for the event through the google form at the end of this post
- to sign up, choose 2 to 4 characters (original or not) and give a bit of information on them (such as their basic backgrounds, or associated themes). you can also share some of your favourite artists or music preferences, but your match is not obligated to use these in their playlist!
- once the sign up period closes, us moderators will go through submissions and match up all participants. matches will be sent out through forum DMs, so make sure to check them! you can also join our [ discord server ] to get pinged for updates on the events status.
- once you have received your giftee's wishlist, you can choose one of their characters to make a playlist for! suggested themes and artists can serve as inspiration, but you are not required to include them all - they're just guidelines. keep in mind this is a secret gift exchange - don't reveal your gift or identity until the event has concluded!
- you have until the end of the working period to finish their mix. then, on may 27th, everyone can post their finished playlists right here in the thread and reveal their identities.
rules and guidelines - your playlist should have a minimum of 8 tracks, and a maximum of 40
- your mix has to be based on one of your match's characters, but you don't have to include all suggested themes or artists - they're just there to give you ideas! your mix cannot contain anything your match has asked you not to include or that would be against the forum's guidelines (such as 18+ content)
- all playlists must be made on youtube. make sure the playlist is set to public or hidden, not private. you may make a version on another platform, as long as you include a youtube version as well.
- all gifts should be posted in this thread during the posting period. your post should include both a link to your playlist as well as a typed out tracklist. make sure to give CWs where necessary, and tag your match so they will see their gift!
- you may optionally choose to also make a cover image for your gift. this could be for example a drawing you made or a picture you edited. do not include any elements you don't have permission to use (ex. random images you found on google, art you didn't make), and be sure to credit elements you use with permission (ex. free stock photos or fonts)!
additional info
- when signing up, pick 2-4 characters and include a clear reference and short description for each one. make sure these are appropriate for all ages and do not include nudity, gore, or otherwise upsetting content!
- the focus of this event lies on your original characters, but you may submit characters from pre-existing media as well.
- if you run into any trouble or don't think you will be able to finish your mix in time, please tell the moderator who sent you your match as soon as possible. we can arrange an extension or even find a replacement gifter if you must drop out, but the sooner we know the better!
- it's a good idea to ask someone unrelated to the event (or a moderator) to check over your finished playlist before posting it, to avoid region-locked or otherwise unavailable videos.
